The next Taiko Drum Master title, Taiko no Tatsujin: Nintendo Switch Version! was announced for Japanese release in a Nintendo Direct back in March, but a new trailer shows that an English version of the game is coming.
However, the trailer indicates that the English version is only for Southeast Asian distribution:
The game can be played using the Joy-Cons as drum sticks and angling them to “hit” different areas on the drum, or players can use button or touch controls if they prefer. There are over 70 songs, including Jump Up Super Star from Mario Odyssey, and special characters Kirby and the squid from Splatoon 2 make appearances to help cheer you on throughout the songs. There are also 20 party games to play with friends.
While this version hasn’t been confirmed for Western release, here’s hoping that it comes our way so we can join in on the fun.
Taiko no Tatsujin: Nintendo Switch Version! launches in Japan on July 19, and the English version is coming to Southeast Asia on August 9. Would you add a Taiko Drum Master title to your Switch library?
