Earthlock: Festival of Magic, a successfully Kickstarted RPG from indie developer Snowcastle Games, will still be coming to Wii U despite the fact it was recently announced as a timed exclusive for Xbox One. Via their Kickstarter page, the developers announced they will first focus on bringing the game to PlayStation 4 after the exclusive period ends, and then hope to follow it up with the Wii U version shortly after that.
“We are dead set on getting the game out on Wii U,” the developer stated. “We believe our backers deserve it and on the contrary to what some say, we also believe there is still a Wii U market worth pursuing. How long it takes we don’t know, but we really, really want to launch on Wii U in good time before the holiday season. (That means November)”
As you can see from the trailer above, Earthlock draws inspiration from JRPGs in terms of exploration and combat, but also appears to add in elements of puzzle solving and resource management. Thankfully, if you’re hoping to enjoy it on Wii U, November isn’t too long of a wait.
