During today’s E3 Direct, Nintendo pulled back the curtain on Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna- The Golden Country, a DLC expansion for the Switch RPG that released late last year. In case you missed the Direct, we’ve embedded the new trailer below!
Taking place 500 years before the events of Xenoblade Chronicles 2, the DLC expansion pits a group of warriors against the forces of Malos. The DLC will be available digitally as part of the game’s Expansion Pass and, interestingly enough, also at retail. The retail version is a bit confusing, however, as it appears to be a stand-alone download code, and Torna- The Golden Country cannot be played unless Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is also purchased. Perhaps this is for players that like physical game cases and might want to have this next to Xenoblade Chronicles 2 on their shelf.
Regardless, Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna- The Golden Country will be available digitally September 14 and in stores September 21. The Expansion Pass costs $29.99.
