When The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim was first announced for Nintendo Switch, the title was a puzzling addition to the system’s lineup. While the title certainly provided the system with another well-regarded game, Skyrim originally released on PC in 2011, leading many to wonder if a port of the game made sense, at this point.
Fortunately for Nintendo fans, the Switch release of Skyrim will boast a handful of new features. The game will feature all three previously released expansions, including Dawnguard, Hearthfire and Dragonborn. The Switch port will also include new Joy-Con control options and, last but not least, the ability to dress as Link and wield weapons from The Legend of Zelda franchise! This option can be unlocked using compatible Amiibo from both the Zelda and Super Smash Bros. lines. Like Breath of the Wild, players can also use Amiibo to unlock additional loot throughout the game, as well!
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is scheduled for release later this year. Stay tuned to Nintendojo for more as it develops!
