During today’s Treehouse event, Nintendo unveiled a brand new role-playing IP for 3DS. Ever Oasis allows players to build an oasis in the desert, then protect it from enemies.
Ever Oasis features a mix of action and RPG elements. Combat takes place in real-time, with players switching between at least three different party members on the fly: Tethu, Roto, and Miura. Each character boasts different abilities can which will be required to clear dungeons. Given that the title has been developed by Grezzo, it should come as no surprise that the game’s dungeons and combat take some influence from Zelda.
The title is produced and directed by Koichi Ishii, a name that should be familiar to RPG fans. Ishii is the director behind the first three titles in the Final Fantasy series, and the creator of two of the franchise’s most endearing characters, the Chocobos and Moogles.
Finally, the title features visuals based on Egypt, and a clock system that influences the rest of the game. Shops close when night approaches and more difficult enemies come out after the sun sets.
