Nintendo confirmed this week that New Super Lucky’s Tale, published by Microsoft, is coming to Switch later this Fall.
Developed by Playful Corp., the game was originally released in 2017 and is a 3D platformer inspired by Super Mario 64 and the Rare games of old. It was a sequel to the Oculus VR launch exclusive Lucky’s Tale.
It follows Lucky, a fox who is on a quest to help his sister protect the Book of Ages, which houses entire worlds and characters. Naturally a mysterious villain shows up to try and steal the book for his own purposes.
Super Lucky’s Tale received a lukewarm reception on launch and, while the above trailer hints at ‘new skills’, it will be interesting to see what else has changed this time around.
This wasn’t the only news to come out of E3 on Nintendo and Microsoft’s ongoing work together on projects – we also heard that Banjo & Kazooie are making their way to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as playable characters.
