Fans of Dragon Quest might be interested to know that the series is making the leap from pixels and polygons to the silver screen. The forthcoming movie, Dragon Quest: Your Story, will arrive in theaters in the land of the rising sun August 2. Watch the first trailer, below:
Dragon Quest: Your Story is apparently based on the 1992 video game Dragon Quest V, a title that didn’t come to western shores until it was remade for Nintendo DS back in 2009. Dragon Quest V revolves around a father and son, with the latter eventually growing up to be a man over the course of the game. This installment of the long-running JRPG series is also known for introducing the ability to raise monsters (something that the Dragon Quest Monsters spin-offs took and expanded upon!)— whether or not that will be incorporated into the film is unknown.
