There are plenty of apps that help players consult with their physician, but a very different kind of doctor will grace mobile devices when Dr. Mario World arrives this summer! Details are extremely limited at this time, but the app will be co-developed and maintained with LINE Corporation.
It certainly makes a lot of sense for Nintendo to bring a new iteration of the Dr. Mario series to mobile devices. The company has been careful not to release mobile games that would compete with their Switch and 3DS offerings; while Nintendo has offered a number of variations on the original title over the years, the core gameplay of Dr. Mario hasn’t changed a whole lot since the Game Boy original. Because of this, new Dr. Mario titles have been released as digital exclusives since Dr. Mario Online Rx appeared on Wii in 2008.
Dr. Mario World is scheduled for release in early summer 2019. Stay tuned to Nintendojo for more as it develops!
