If today’s Nintendo Direct showed one thing, it’s the fact that Nintendo is determined to keep a steady stream of content on the Switch platform. While the presentation mostly provided new information about first party titles like Super Mario Odyssey, a handful of new titles were also announced, including a pair from publisher Bethesda.
Nintendo announced that The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim will debut on the system on November 17. Additionally, 2016’s Doom remake will appear sometime during the holiday season, and Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus will appear on Nintendo’s hybrid platform in 2018.
While none of these games are new, the ability to play them on-the-go should certainly appeal to a number of gamers. All three titles released to very strong reviews, and it certainly is great to see that third parties are continuing to see the appeal.

Wolfenstein II launches in October. I’d call that new!
Bethesda is definitely bringing the games with these three titles in play. With Doom and Wolfenstein being more recent than Skyrim, maybe the pre-order numbers for their Elder Scrolls game looked good enough to warrant these ports.
Here’s hoping Nintendo can count on more announcements like this in the future. Really, it seems like a lot of games from the last few years that Wii U missed out on might be in play here. I think a lot of gamers are willing to double-dip for portability with these titles. We’ll see if the sales numbers bare that out.
