The Digimon franchise will soon be expanding with a new game that is bound for Switch. The series, which revolves around digital monsters getting wrapped up in adventures with human teenagers, has been going strong for a long time and this new entry will mark its 20th anniversary.
Digimon Survive features a new cast of human characters alongside well-known Digimon from throughout the series history. This time around, a group of teenagers find themselves in a dangerous new dimension after disappearing from a school trip and have to team-up with the Digimon in order to survive. Judging from the trailer, the game features choice driven story-telling alongside turn-based, strategy RPG battles. Also, judging from the somber music and the emphasis placed on the word “death,” it looks like the adventure might get pretty heavy at times.
The game will be available for Switch sometime in 2019 in North America, Europe, and Japan.
