As we get closer to the launch of PS5 and Xbox Series X, speculation continues over just how those consoles will impact the success of the Switch and whether it can maintain developer interest.

Despite this, the results of GDC’s annual State of the Game industry survey seem to suggest that Nintendo doesn’t have much to worry about. Of the 4,800 developers surveyed, 37% are “interested” in developing for Switch, compared to 38% interest in developing for PS5 and 25% for Xbox Series X.

The survey also revealed that 17% of developers said their current project will release on Switch and 19% are planning a future release on the console. Meanwhile 11% of devs are currently working on a project to release on PS5 and 9% are working on games for Xbox Series X. The most popular platform, however, is PC, with 50% of developers stating that their previous and future projects were and will be on PC.

Do you feel Nintendo should sleep with one eye open or that they shouldn’t lose any sleep over Sony and Microsoft? Let us know in the comments.
