Many indie games have proven incredibly successful by offering innovative new takes on tried and true gameplay formulas. One such success has been Darkest Dungeon, which takes the classic dungeon crawling RPG concept and adds in a dose of psychological horror. As you build and level up your party, you’ll have to deal with their various fears and afflictions that potentially grow worse as they delve deeper into catacombs filled with all sorts of terrors. Soon, Switch owners will be getting a taste of the acclaimed, challenging game.
The developer, Red Hook Studios, recently tweeted a short video through the game’s Twitter account, showing off the title running on a Switch in handheld mode. Not much has been said about how this version might differ from others and the video isn’t very high quality, but given the fact the game is largely menu driven and favors detailed sprites over cutting edge graphics, it seems like the Switch shouldn’t present much in the way of technical shortcomings.
