Once upon a time, Capcom had been gearing up for a fourth installment (we mustn’t forget the Misadventures of Tron Bonne) in its beloved Mega Man Legends series. In 2010 the company had announced Mega Man Legends 3 would be coming to Nintendo 3DS, with a prototype version of the game slated for release down the road. By 2011, however, the project was shuttered and dreams of visiting the world of Mega Man Volnutt faded. Now, there’s a glimmer of hope thanks to a Tweet from series composer Makoto Tomozawa.
#MegamanLegend3 For example, if you collect money by crowdfunding, collect staff, how many people will agree when you launch the project, please retweet if this stupid tweet catches your eyes I want to hear the voice!

Tomozawa hasn’t been an official Capcom employee for many years, but the composer does maintain a solid working relationship with the company, having worked on a smattering of different projects for the outfit in the time since his departure. The Tweet has come out of thin air, so it isn’t totally clear if this is just wishful thinking from Tomozawa or a legitimate gauge of fan interest that will be passed along to Capcom. One can only hope that if enough of a reaction is generated that development of Mega Man Legends 3 will be resuscitated.
