“Collection of Mana” Gets Trademarked by Square Enix in Japan

Is this connected to the Seiken Densetsu Collection?

After filing a series of Final Fantasy and Secret of Mana trademarks in the U.S., Canada and Europe earlier this month, Square Enix has now trademarked “Collection of Mana” in Japan.

While this trademark originates from the company’s Japanese branch, the name is very similar to Seiken Densetsu Collection, a collection released on Nintendo Switch in Japan last year that includes Seiken Densetsu: Final Fantasy Gaiden (Final Fantasy Adventure/Mystic Quest), Seiken Densetsu 2 (Secret of Mana), and Seiken Densetsu 3, but which has never been localized in the west.

With no other information available, all we can do at this point is speculate, but what do you think? Is this a step towards bringing Seiken Densetsu Collection to the west, or is Collection of Mana more likely to be a brand new game?
