2K Games has announced that it is bringing Civilization VI to Nintendo Switch on November 16.
The port will feature all of the patches from the PC version in addition to four extra content packs: Vikings Scenario, Poland Civilization & Scenario, Australia Civilization & Scenario, and Persia and Macedonia Civilization & Scenario.
For anyone unfamiliar with Civilization’s turn-based strategy gameplay, the series tasks players with building an empire to span the ages. This requires you to explore new lands, research emerging technologies, conquer enemies, and take on some of the most well-known leaders in world history to create the strongest empire ever known.
Twenty-four world leaders will be available to play as, including Cleopatra of Egypt, Trajan of Rome, and Hojo Tokimune of Japan, with each leader possessing their own unique abilities, units, and infrastructures. As time passes, interactions with other civilizations will evolve from inevitable conflicts to more subtle negotiations and the forging of alliances.
The Switch version of the game features four additional playable scenarios: the colonization of Australia in “Outback Tycoon,” the defence of Poland against invaders in “Jadwiga’s Legacy,” the plundering of Europe as a Viking leader in “Vikings, Raiders, and Traders!” and conquering the known world in “Conquests of Alexander.” The game also offers cooperative and competitive multiplayer via wireless LAN.
