With the focus on digital downloads becoming more prevalent as the next round of consoles approaches, it’s more refreshing than ever to hear about games being printed on to actual, physical cartridges. Enter developer 11bit Studios (working in conjunction with Merge Games) which has announced its upcoming action RPG Children of Morta will be coming to Nintendo Switch both digitally and physically. Children of Morta is described as follows:
Embark on the adventure of an extraordinary family of heroes. With the Corruption spreading through the land, guardians of the Mountain Morta have to stand up against an ancient evil. But… it’s not a story about saving the universe. It’s a story about a valiant family standing together while the world around them is being devoured by darkness.
The footage in the trailer reveals a game with some exceptionally stunning pixel art and animation. Detailed and full of emotion, the characters in Children of Morta look like they’re filled with personality. The combat, meanwhile, has a fast and biting edge to it, making this writer’s anticipation level for this title quite high.
