Later this week on January 25, fans of Capcom’s Ace Attorney series will be able to dig into Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Trilogy on Nintendo Switch. The compilation represents the latest remastered set of titles pulled from the beloved franchise, but with the exception of the two Miles Edgeworth spinoffs, it also means that the entire mainline series will now be available on Switch. This might leave fans wondering what is next for Apollo, Phoenix Wright, and the rest of the cast, and Capcom producer Kenichi Hashimoto has some encouraging words for fans.
Speaking with 4Gamer, he said the following:
“At this time there is nothing to talk about, but we have gained a lot of knowledge about the RE Engine. I can say that the Ace Attorney series will not be stopping, so in that sense I think you can look forward to what is coming.”
Not stopping, eh? That will likely delight many an Ace Attorney fan, as the series certainly still feels like it’s full of storytelling potential. Having been digging into the Apollo Justice trilogy over the past couple of weeks, I was reminded both how charming this cast is and how inventive and fun the mechanics are. It’s great to think that in an industry where the AAA studios seem a bit reluctant to do something new, that quirky franchises like the Ace Attorney series are still being invested in.
