Monster Hunter fans will either rejoice or groan, as Capcom has announced that a film adaptation of the popular franchise is coming to a screen near you.
The movie is currently in the process of being adapted by Constantin Film and will be directed by Paul W.S. Anderson, who is probably best known for directing four of the six Resident Evil films, which have grossed over $1 billion worldwide. He is also writing the screenplay and will co-produce alongside Jeremy Bolt from Impact Pictures, Robert Kulzer and Martin Moszkowicz from Constantin Film, and Dennis Berardi.
Principal photography will begin this month in South Africa and Namibia, though neither a release date nor window have been announced.
