News Desk Masthead (Beyond Good & Evil 2)

Beyond Good & Evil is one of those games that got lavished with praise upon its release, but didn’t make much of a dent in terms of sales. Despite not being a huge seller, fans have been holding out hope for years now that Ubisoft and creator Michel Ancel wold bring a second adventure starring beloved heroine Jade. These rumors of a sequel have persisted for years now, to the point now that a second entire generation of consoles has arrived with nary a sign of a Beyond Good & Evil follow-up.

Beyond Good & Evil

Fans can finally rest easy as Ubisoft has officially pulled back the curtain on a new Beyond Good & Evil. The title doesn’t have a firm launch window, but its reveal is a welcome bit of good news, nonetheless. Perhaps even better news for Nintendo fans is the rumor that the game will be coming exclusively to NX when it finally does launch. Considering that fans are (presumably) close to seeing an unveiling of NX in the near future, the timing of this reveal by Ubisoft becomes all the more curious.

Do you think the new Beyond Good & Evil will come to NX? Tell us in the comments!

To tell the truth, I can’t really say I’m happy. I know Miyamoto said “delayed games are eventually good”, but games that take this long rarely are. BG&E2 will probably have signs of being handed from one developer to the next over the last several years with miss-matching levels and graphics.

I hope I’m wrong. But we should remain skeptical.
God, please let me be wrong.

I’m not sure. There’s no reason a game can’t be amazing even after platform-swappingly long development. Banjo-Kazooie and Eternal Darkness quickly come to mind. Of course, those same studios also brought us Star Fox Adventures (which I think was still pretty good) and Too Human (which was nearly the Duke Nukem Forever scale disaster you’re worried about).

It will come down to whether Ancel and his team(s) can pull it together. They can certainly roll with the punches; I recall the heartbreak when Rayman Legends was delayed and lost Wii U exclusivity, and then they went and added a ton of extra content.

I remain optimistic about BG&E2, though if I’m honest I must admit I’ll buy it regardless. :^)
