Beyblade, the anime/manga series that does for spinning tops what Yu-Gi-Oh does for children’s card games, has seen its fair share of video game adaptations over the years, but publisher FuRyu has just announced it will be going somewhere it’s never been before: Nintendo 3DS. Come November 16, 2016, Japanese gamers will be able to battle their virtual tops in Beyblade Burst.
The game will allow players to relive the plot of the anime with six playable characters, all the while battling and customizing their tops as they try to top all the other tops. Altogether, the game promises thousands of potential parts and color combinations.
While I’m not too familiar with Beyblade, I have seen a bit of one of the older anime series and it is surprisingly crazy. I’m not quite sure what exactly was happening, but I do know that there were attack helicopters shooting tops and children, so it obviously has some redeeming value. Tragically, nothing has been said yet about a worldwide release.
