Indie developers discovered a great way to approach survival horror by embracing first-person exploration, creepy locales, and powerless protagonists who need to use their brains to escape indescribable horrors. While Bendy and the Ink Machine follows in these conceptual footsteps, it definitely stands out thanks to a very unique aesthetic inspired by old, sepia-toned cartoons.
As developer TheMeatly Games, puts it, “Play as Henry as he revisits the demons of his past by exploring the abandoned animator’s workshop of Joey Drew Studios. With twists and turns around every corner, ‘Bendy and the Ink Machine‘ is sure to thrill you… and decimate your childhood.”
Bendy and the Ink Machine released on PC last year but will be coming to Switch later this year thanks to a partnership with Rooster Teeth. Expect to hear more details, such as a more exact release date, sometime in the future.
