Five Nights at Freddy’s was an unexpected hit with its unique gameplay and a heavy focus on jump scares that proved incredibly popular, and lucrative, for many YouTubers. Over the years, that trend has slowly receded, but its influence hasn’t completely disappeared yet. Case in point, Bedtime Blues from independent developer HANDMADE Studios.
While the idea of having to watch out for and fend off a homicidal teddy bear with limited resources shows the inspiration from FNaF, Bedtime Blues adds in plenty of new elements. For example, you are free to explore the environment, a child’s bedroom, as you uncover the story and keep the bear at bay with your flashlight. Also, while the game takes place in a 3D, rendered world, the art style is actually quite pixelated for a rather unique look. Check out the trailer below for what the game looks like in action.
Bedtime Blues will sell for $9.99 when it releases on the Switch eShop on January 17.
