The TOTAKU Collection, which describes itself as “the ultimate series of collectible figurines for fans of characters spanning every decade and genre of video games from history,” is adding two new figurines to the mix: Conker and Banjo and Kazooie.
Conker’s Bad Fur Day, Banjo-Kazooie, and Banjo-Tooie all appeared on the Nintendo 64 back in the late 90s and early 2000s, but perhaps unsurprisingly the TOTAKU Collection doesn’t include any Nintendo first-party characters. Of course, while TOTAKUs don’t feature any in-game functionality like amiibo, it’s still safe to consider these figurines competitors to Nintendo’s own figurines.
These will be available exclusively through the UK retailer GAME, but given that GameStop owns TOTAKU, it’s more than likely just a matter of time before they’re available through GameStop, as well. While no exact release date has been given, they’re expected to come out sometime in Fall 2018.
In the meantime, check out some footage of the figurines up close:
Meanwhile, fans have been clamoring for Banjo and Kazooie to appear in a Smash Bros. game for years now (and Xbox Head Phil Spencer is interested in seeing the duo duke it out with Nintendo’s finest), so it does make one wonder whether they’ll be announced for Smash Bros. Ultimate. If they are, it would be interesting to see whether we would also get a Banjo and Kazooie Amiibo…
What do you think of the Conker and Banjo and Kazooie TOTAKU? Will you be picking them up when they launch?
