The late nineties provided gamers with some terrific experiences and cutting edge graphics. Unfortunately, what was once cutting edge hasn’t aged so well, and so the graphics of the N64, PlayStation and Sega Saturn era haven’t received the same amount of love as the pixel art of their 8 and 16-bit counterparts. Developer Takaakilchijo hopes to change all that, however, with the retro throwback game Back in 1995!
Released on 3DS as Back in 1995 64, the title lovingly recreates the tank-like controls of the early Resident Evil games, along with fixed camera angles and yes, graphics intended to evoke the time period. In the game, players take on the role of Kent as he tries to solve a mystery involving his missing daughter and the strange creatures that have decimated the city. According to publisher Ratalaika Games, the title should take most gamers two to three hours to complete.
For players looking for a nineties throwback, Back in 1995 should cure that itch. At the very least, it should be a lot cheaper than the price of a PlayStation Classic!
