In other Pokémon news, sales of 3DS Pokémon games have doubled in Japan since the release of Pokémon Go! In the first week of July, Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire sold just over 3,000 units. Compare that to the final week of the month, where the games sold around 8,000!
Nintendo recently announced that it was only collecting some of the profits despite the rampant success of Pokémon Go. So this is good news, as it shows the power that mobile games have to strengthen brands for Nintendo and push sales on the dedicated gaming devices.
