Animal Crossing fans had been waiting with bated breath for the official debut of the upcoming Switch game, and today’s E3 Direct provided a telling first look. Animal Crossing: New Horizons is an intriguing new entry in the beloved franchise, and it looks to be an interesting departure!
In the new title, players will start from scratch as they build things up on a deserted island. Players will start with a tent and no other inhabitants. In a way, it almost feels like the isolated beginnings of Breath of the Wild! However, as you build up the island from scratch, villagers will begin to move and settle in.
Unfortunately, Animal Crossing: New Horizons won’t appear until March 20, 2020. Still, today’s E3 Direct proved that Nintendo has quite a few options to tide Switch owners over in the meantime!
