With Fire Emblem Heroes just a few days away, it is worthwhile to look forward to the next mobile game coming as part of Nintendo’s relationship with developer DeNA, a title based on the Animal Crossing franchise. Unfortunately for those looking forward to that game, it looks like gamers will have to wait a little longer.
Today, Nintendo announced that the Animal Crossing mobile game has been pushed back to the next fiscal year. While that might sound like quite a wait, it’s worth noting that Nintendo’s next fiscal year runs from April this year to March 2018. So, while this means the wait could be more than a year, there is also the very real possibility that it could come down to a few months.
Super Mario Run has already been downloaded tens of millions of times and Fire Emblem Heroes releases on February 2, so there’s quite a bit of anticipation about Nintendo’s current plans on mobile platforms. Hopefully Nintendo will continue this momentum and not make the world wait too long before telling us more about Animal Crossing’s mobile transition.
