The developers at AlphaDream made a name for themselves among Nintendo fans with their work on the cult classic Mario & Luigi series of comedic RPGs. Unfortunately, all that hard work didn’t translate to financial success as the company recently folded in the face of mounting debt. While they had released the 3DS remake of Mario & Luigi: Bowser’s Inside Story earlier this year, it turns out they had lent their talents to one more project.
Mario & Sonic at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games was released today, and its credits have revealed that AlphaDream contributed to the project. Big titles from major developers and publishers often have other studios who help contribute, and AlphaDream was apparently among four other studios that helped out Sega.
For those who want to revel in what may be AlphaDream’s final work, Mario & Sonic at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games launched today in North America and will see a release in other markets November 8.
