Last year, Pokémon The Movie: I Choose You gave audiences an alternate glimpse at the early adventures of Ash and Pikachu. A new year brings the promise of a brand-new Pokémon film, and The Pokémon Company has released a teaser trailer for the film, which we’ve embedded below!
While information is scarce at this time, there are a couple of interesting things we can take note of from the trailer. Judging by Ash’s appearance here, it might be reasonable to assume that this is a sequel to I Choose You, taking place in that film’s unique timeline. Since that movie focused on Ho-oh and this film hints at a focus on Lugia, it might lend some credence to that theory. Of course, Ash and Pikachu might not play that large a role, at all! The trailer certainly seems to give less camera time to the two franchise stars, and more to a handful of new characters, instead; perhaps we’ll see that in the film, as well! Of course, it’s all just conjecture at this point!
Pokémon: Everyone’s Story will release in Japan July 13, so we should know more soon. Stay tuned to Nintendojo for more information as it develops!
