It might seem hard for some gamers to believe, but there was a time when “retro-themed” software just wasn’t a thing in the video game industry. Now, the eShop is filled with throwbacks to yesteryear, across all three of Nintendo’s systems. The latest such homage, 80’s Overdrive, calls back to racing games from that particular time period.
80’s Overdrive was first announced two years ago, and while it has taken some time, the title will finally release in the near future. The game has been sent to Nintendo for lot check, and could arrive as early as next month. The title will feature a number of different tracks to race on, and a track editor, which will allow players to share their creations with friends. Developer Insane Code has not ruled out the possibility of DLC tracks and vehicles, should there be demand.
