Sonic Team Boss Takashi Iizuka is giving us great expectations for Sonic’s future in 2021.
In a recent interview with Game Informer, Iizuka said:
“2017 was a big year for Sonic. The next big year for Sonic is 2021. That’s the 30-year anniversary for Sonic. We are now preparing.”
Game Informer also tried to gauge the possibility of a Sonic game being released to honor the series anniversary, as SEGA has done in the past when it released Sonic Generations in 2011. They weren’t able to get a definitive answer from Iizuka — just a chuckle and a “maybe.”
