It turns out there’s a lot going on over the next year or so.
And not just in terms of games, either– though Mario Party 9 and Kid Icarus: Uprising look pretty good to us, and both are out this month! Nintendo eShop’s been kicking into gear more and more, with demos to get us more excited to boot. And with Autodesk and Havok licensed for Wii U use, there’s little reason to not be excited about the innovative console’s holiday 2012 release. (There’s also the whole thing about 3DS-Vita console wars, but really, who does that anymore?) (Asked the editor of the Nintendo-exclusive website …)
(We haven’t even mentioned the Operation Rainfall games: Xenoblade Chronicles and The Last Story hit the U.S. in mere months, and Pandora’s Tower comes to Europe in just one! Katharine Byrne reviewed the first two just for you.)
The real question is: what is a Nintendo enthusiast to do in light of all these cool things that are happening around here? This issue is all about that kind of fan fervor: how to be a gamer. Now, we’re sure that if you’re reading this site, you already know how to be a gamer (because you are one already, natch)– but there’s nothing wrong with a little validation. And there’s nothing wrong with being a little humorous while we’re at it. Consider this issue a celebration of fandom– a celebration of being excited for what Nintendo and Videogameland have in store for us this year. And hey, celebrate with us!
If you’re not feeling particularly celebratory, no matter– there’s enough here for all of us. And we’ll throw a few Nightly News Roundups in as well. ‘cos we like you.
Enjoy,
Andrew
