Things like the play coin pedometer really annoy me, if that’s what it turns out to be. What happens when people can’t walk or have trouble walking? They get to miss out on that. I have a friend who is in a wheelchair & when she got soul-silver, she gave the pedometer to her brother to walk around her other pokemon, but she was pretty depressed that she couldn’t take part in that aspect of the game.

As for the 3DS, I have already pre-ordered it. The price here is £219.99 at amazon.co.uk & it’s way too high, but you know what. I want it. I am going to get it & I am going to get it on day one. I’m annoyed that I’m going to have to throw down that much on a handheld, but well that’s how it is. Due to my situation, games occupy a load of my time & when I see a game I want to play, I don’t want to not be able to get it because I don’t have the system.

That being said, I will 99% likely keep 3D off at all times. This is because 3D destroys my eyes & leaves me with a death-migraine. But I have seen gorgeous screens of the 2D play so I am not worried at all. One thing that I can’t seem to get a confirm on though is will it be region free? Like on my DS/DSiXL I can play PAL & US games on it, can I play USA games on the 3DS? Hope so or I will be keeping my DSiXL for my US games =/

So here is my thoughts. As I buy every system within a year of it coming out so assuming I’m not in a financial mess I’m there day 1. I got my DS and Wii day one. Wii I camped 12 hours for. I’ll get blue I’m sick of white/black/silver. That color has caught my eye since E3. Its frustrating to not know what games come day one but launch window stuff that I want is Steel Diver, OofT3D, Pilowings Resort, DOA3D & Bust a Move. It be funny if I spend $250 + $40 day one to buy Bust A Move cause its the only game I want out day one. But I got PSP a few weeks after it came out with Lumines for the same amount of money and I liked Sony less than Nintendo. Though I do like PSP more than DS. So I won’t complain.

My PSP parallels are getting stronger. Guy remember how Sony kept being like “our handheld might be $400” “its worth that much” Nintendo used the same marketing techniques to create perceived value that Sony did 6 years ago. Its kinda funny.

Love how the “mini” cast is longer than the regular cast. PS its nice to mix up the MCs. Gives the shows different flavors.

I will be getting blue as well… a bit sad there is no subtle, dark red. Also mentioned to Noah how amusing it was that the ‘mini’ cast was longer than the regular cast. But I love the minicasts :D More podcasts in the week is great!

Hey Nintendojo staff apparently Chris Kohler from wired agrees with my parallels. Check out this article. http://www.wired.com/gamelife/2011/01/nintendo-3ds-analysis/

Hmm.. eShop will probably update the same way that DSi Ware does: On Mondays.

The 3DS does not come out on a Monday. It comes out on a Sunday.

So, the eShop will probably launch on……………

    Monday.

I seem to recall one podcast regular who immediately called the $250 price tag and stuck to it. Oh, that’s right… it was me!

Anyway, I too wish the launch line up was made clear and I agree with Evan’s theory that Nintendo is holding back on Ocarina so that I doesn’t immediately over shadow everything else. The same can probably be said for Kid Icarus, because that game looks incredible.

And Noah, go ahead and get Devil Survivor. I gave it a great review for reason and Atlus excels at doing remakes (Just look at Persona 3, they managed two stellar remakes that surpassed an already incredible game.)

As for the new Slippy voice, I heard a rumor (that I’ve started) that they have narrowed it down to either James Earl Jones of Gilbert Gottfried.

That’s funny, the rumor I heard was that James Earl Jones and Gilbert Gottfried we collaborating on Slippy’s voice. They both say the lines and then an audio technician combines their voices to make one über-annoying one.
