Ubisoft is going back to one of Rayman’s classic platformers to reinvigorate the franchise. Following the release of Rayman 30th Anniversary Edition back in February of this year, Ubisoft is remaking the Wii U classic Rayman Legends as the upcoming Rayman Legends Retold. The game takes the core experience and reskins it with new 3D graphics, extra stages, and more. Take a look:
Rayman Legends Retold has been rebuilt in Unreal Engine 5, which can sometimes be something of a red flag these days when it comes to AAA game development. Having seen the game in action and played it in person, however, this writer can attest that while the original version arguably had more character, Ubisoft hasn’t just mailed in Legends Retold. The 3D models are stylized and gorgeous, and a very elaborate lighting system captures the spirit of the original quite well.
You’ll be able to judge for yourself when Rayman Legends Retold comes to Nintendo Switch 2 on October 1, 2026.
