This was easily the most jam packed year of reveals yet for Summer Game Fest, and many of them were real doozies. Among them was the announcement that SEGA is finally bringing a sequel to its popular Alien: Isolation game. When this popped up on the screen in the Dolby Theatre, the crowd errupted with excitement. Take your first look at Alien: Isolation 2:
It’s taken a decade to get to this point, and fans have been clamoring all that time for a sequel. Alien: Isolation was notable for an incredibly frightening atmosphere enhanced by one of the smartest, most engaging enemy AIs ever created. Here’s what SEGA says fans can expect from Alien: Isolation 2:
With a brand-new setting, story and protagonist, players will embrace a whole new adventure, while experiencing the same deadly tension which established the original game as the ultimate survival-horror experience.
On a remote, storm-ravaged colony-world, players will endure the elements as they navigate the planet’s surface, and explore the claustrophobic confines of the Weyland-Yutani outpost of Kurosaki Station. It’s a new hunting-ground for the Alien, forcing players to improvise and develop new tools, techniques and tactics to survive the deadly game of cat-and-mouse.
Creative Director at Creative Assembly Al Hope said “It has been over a decade since we created the original Alien: Isolation and I am so excited to show everyone the first glimpse of the sequel. Our dedicated Survival team at Creative Assembly has been working hard to create a new, evolved Isolation experience continuing the legacy of the Alien franchise, making the eponymous killer smarter, the environment harsher and the chance of survival slimmer.”
Sadly, there isn’t a release date yet for Alien: Isolation 2, but once we learn more, we’ll be sure to share it with all of you.
