The Strong National Museum of Play in Rochester, New York, tackled the task of narrowing down from a list of 15 prospective video games the six titles that would be the second class of inductees into the World Video Game Hall of Fame. After much deliberation, the following games have joined the likes of Super Mario Bros. and Tetris as Hall-of-Fame-worthy:

  • Grand Theft Auto III
  • The Legend of Zelda
  • The Oregon Trail
  • The Sims
  • Sonic the Hedgehog
  • Space Invaders

Their inclusion into the World Video Game Hall of Fame brings the total number of inductees to 12, following the 2014 inaugural class of honorees:

  • Doom
  • Pac-Man
  • Pong
  • Super Mario Bros.
  • Tetris
  • World of Warcraft

What do you think of the choices that were made for this round of inductees? Any that you agree or disagree with? Which titles would you next like to see receive this honor? Let us know in the comments section!
