WayForward has released a new patch for River City Girls and it brings a number of changes to the game, including some edits to one of the secret endings.
This particular ending can only be seen if the player goes into the final fight wearing the Hasabe and Mami earrings, which unlocks a totally different boss fight. While almost all of the same comic panels will still appear after the fight, some lines of dialogue have been changed and new images have been inserted as well.
Other gameplay changes that come as a result of the patch include:
- Players can now hold down the action button to talk to people or go to a new area
- A bug which stopped buffs from Books being applied has now been fixed
- A combo for an unlockable character has been fixed so it doesn’t send them flying off-screen
