One of the biggest teases to come out of last week’s Switch presentation was Fire Emblem Warriors, the latest collaboration between Nintendo and Koei Tecmo. Unlike most other software showcased during the event, the game was announced via a painfully brief teaser video, which showed Fire Emblem Awakening’s protagonist Chrom taking up his sword, the Falchion. Thankfully, Nintendo has rectified this somewhat by releasing an “extended” version of the trailer during today’s Fire Emblem Direct, giving fans their first glimpse at the game in motion.

It turns out Warriors isn’t the only Fire Emblem game in development for Switch, either; Nintendo also announced that a brand new installment is in the works for the console, though of course it did not elaborate beyond that.

While we may be waiting a while for Switch’s first true Fire Emblem game, Fire Emblem Warriors should tide fans over in the interim when it launches on Switch and New Nintendo 3DS this fall.
