During a panel at WonderCon this weekend, Nintendo unveiled the newest downloadable character coming to the 3DS and Wii U versions of Hyrule Warriors: Marin from The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening.

While there currently isn’t any footage of Marin in action, Nintendo did give fans a glimpse at her concept art, which you can see below. Marin will debut as part of the Link’s Awakening DLC pack, which will also include a new weapon for Linkle and, in Hyrule Warriors Legends for 3DS, a new map for adventure mode.

The Link’s Awakening DLC pack will be available to purchase later this summer. Are you excited to see Marin join the roster? What type of attacks do you think she’ll use on the battlefield? Share your thoughts in the comments!

This is interesting. This is the first time I’ve seen Marin in anything but her little 8-bit form. I wonder what her abiliies will be. Singing? Summoning animals to fight?

“You got Marin!” Still my favorite moment in any Zelda game.

I think xeacons is on to something with summoning animals to fight. There are actually a bunch of items in Link’s Awakening which would make for pretty funny weapons – the broom, that bigass fishing hook, secret seashells, but Marin’s peaceful nature seems better suited to inspiring her various animal pals to do the dirty work.

Oh! Nope, nevermind, I’ve got it. Bow-Wow. Obviously. It seems as though she’s racking up KOs and pulling off sweet combos but really, she’s just doing a favor for Madame MeowMeow and taking Bow-Wow for a walk.

    Thumb up 2
