FIFA 18 has reportedly sold more copies on Switch than on Playstation 4 in Japan, according to Dengeki Online.

77,892 copies of FIFA 18 were sold on PS4 in Japan in its first few weeks on sale, before it fell out of range of the Top 50 best selling games. Meanwhile, the Switch version of the game has  consistently remained in the Top 50 chart since launch and has sold 89,329 copies in that time.

The news is perhaps somewhat surprising given the fact that the Switch version of the game doesn’t include some of the features found on PS4, Xbox One and PC. In particular, the Switch version doesn’t run on EA’s Frostbite engine and does not include The Journey story mode.

That clearly hasn’t affected sales of the game on Switcht in Japan. The story is vastly different in the West though, where PS4 and Xbox One sales of the game significantly outpace those on otherp platforms.
