As the month draws to a close, our staff choose their discs and load. (Them.)

Every Saturday we ask our staffers “Yo, what yo playing dawg?!” and after they tell us that we sound incredibly stupid, they tell us in a marvellous round table format. From Smash Bros. to Nintendogs, we’ve got everything going on in this week’s Week: End Game: On so let’s not waste any time and get on with the games!

I have decided to get back into Super Smash Bros. Brawl. With my rekindled interest in Pokémon I will be tackling Pikachu once again, full-time, like I did in the original Super Smash Bros.. I also used the electric mouse in Melee, that is until Falco came along… On Xbox 360 I will be playing Alan Wake’s American Nightmare on Xbox Live Arcade, having recently beaten the frightful Alan Wake and its two DLCs.

A few nights ago I returned to Team Fortress 2 thanks to the long-awaited Pyro update. Although the fun burnt out pretty quickly, I will be back on real soon. With the recent reveal of 3DS XL, I have chosen to buy a blue one at launch and download New Super Mario Bros. 2. Until then, New Super Mario Bros. Wii and maybe The Last Story, will keep me going.

The Amazing Spider-Man arrives in theatres next week and hopefully I will be attending the midnight release. Depending on how much I like the reboot, I may pick up the open-world 360 game. Unfortunately, the Wii version does not look up to par. Until next weekend, stay cool and for my fellow Americans, happy Independence Day!

After 90 hours, I have officially exhausted every nook and cranny of Dragon Age: Origins — Ultimate Edition, including the main game, the Awakenings expansion, and a few other smallish DLC sidequests. It had a great narrative and was pretty solid from start to end. In its immediate wake I’ll be taking up the original Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune and the DS title Brave, which I am reviewing for the Dojo. (I’ll also be taking my four-year old daughter to see the movie next week, which should make for an interesting comparison.)

I’m also planning some summer travel in late July, and to that end I’ve got two DS games incoming via the interwebs that I’ve never played before, and they’re both oldies but goodies. The first is Nintendogs, which I got off eBay for $7 and figured it was worth playing, as much for my daughter as for me. The other is Dragon Quest IX, which I did not buy when it first came out. Now that I can get it new for $15, it seems just the right time to finally take the zillion-hour plunge.

And that’s all she wrote! (She being the staffers of course.) Now it’s your turn, what are you playing this weekend? Let us know in the comments!
