Another game has come to the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack: Wave Race 64! The beloved Nintendo 64 racing game sees players take to the water on jet skis to both compete and pull off astounding tricks. Check out the launch trailer if you’ve yet to see Wave Race 64 in action (or if it has been many years since the last time you did):
Wave Race 64 features four different racers with their own unique styles, as well as nine total courses. One aspect of Wave Race 64 that made it a standout upon launch back in 1996 was its exceptional water physics. The waves react and break based on the movement of the player (and other racers). What’s more, the water is also impacted by the weather, which can make the waves more or less choppy. This in turn can make seemingly benign courses challenging, and trickier courses downright vexing.
If you’re interested in giving Wave Race 64 a go, simply update the Nintendo 64 app on your Switch (and be sure to have an active Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack subscription).
