Ty the Tasmanian Tiger fans will be thrilled to hear that they’re getting more of the beloved marsupial on Nintendo Switch… at least, some will. Although TY 1 and TY 2 are both available on the console, the wait has been on for TY 3 to come to hybrid system. Alas, while there’s no official announcement just yet for TY 3, fans might be placated (dare we suggest, even happy?) that TY the Tasmanian Tiger 4: Bush Rescue Return is “coming soon.” The 2013 platformer is said to be releasing this time around as an enhanced edition. Take a look:
So, what makes this an “enhanced edition?” Full voice work is being implemented alongside remastered cinematic scenes and additional music. Sadly, this is only confirmed as a digital release in the eShop, but perhaps if the reception is strong enough it will warrant a console launch in the same vein as the first TY did. TY 4 is a bit polarizing among fans given its change to 2D gameplay versus 3D, which would have been more forgivable if the quality was as high as TY’s 2D adventures on Game Boy Advance. Fans will see if Krome Studios has produced a more agreeable version of TY 4 for Switch when it launches at some point in the near future.
