If getting the delightful Tomb Raider I-III Remastered collection next year on Switch isn’t exciting enough for you, then perhaps this new anime starring Lara Croft will do the trick. Announced yesterday during the online DROP 01 event, Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft is a new animation set to explore the beginnings of the eponymous adventurer. The project, which is set to launch “soon” on the Netflix streaming service (sometime in 2024), will star Haley Atwell as Lara Croft. Tasha Huo, who was behind Netflix’s The Witcher: Blood Origin, is writer and executive producer for the show. Animation duties, meanwhile, will be handled by Castlevania’s Powerhouse Animation. What the story actually entails is anyone’s guess, but what is known at this point is that the narrative is set after the conclusion of the recent Crystal Dynamics trilogy of games.
