Sonic the Hedgehog 4 is the upcoming sequel to the wildly popular Sonic film franchise. Sonic 4 is anticipated to hit theaters on March 19, 2027, and word has come that principal photography is now wrapped. The news shared via director Jeff Fowler via X:

Sonic 4 is only the tip of the iceberg for the franchise, as Paramount allegedly has a Sonic Universe film in the pipeline. Set to release in 2028, the movie would presumably be an ensemble piece centered on the larger cast of Sonic the Hedgehog characters. As for Sonic 4, besides Metal Sonic (shown in the post by Fowler), Amy is also anticipated to play a central role in the movie.
