Most of the time, video game developers like to save their announcements for official press releases or fancy trailers at big public events. Sometimes, however, the more mundane minutiae of releasing a game can let the cat out of the bag. The newest accidental reveal appears to come from a trademark filed by Bandai Namco — Pac-Man Maker.
The Japanese publisher filed the trademark today, and unfortunately the possible title is the only thing revealed by the filing. Nothing is said regarding platforms or gameplay mechanics, but with a title like Pac-Man Maker, one can make several educated guesses, as it would seem rather self-explanatory.
Hopefully Bandai Namco won’t keep details under wraps for too long; after all, E3 is about two months away and is a great example of those aforementioned “big public events.” And even if this game never materializes on a Nintendo platform, Pac-Man fans can always look forward to the previously announced Namco Museum for Switch, which includes not just Pac-Man, but many of the company’s other arcade classics.
