The Last Story Release Date Announced
Last night’s press conference might have focused on 3DS, but the new handheld system didn’t receive all of the attention. The Last Story, the latest from RPG-centric developer Mistwalker and Final Fantasy creator Hironobu Sakaguchi, will be released on January 27, 2011 in Japan as a Wii exclusive.
This is great for Japanese gamers, but gamers in the rest of the world are still waiting to hear whether or not it will see the light of day outside of Japan.

Motion Plus + Wii Remote = Wii Remote Plus
Another non-3DS announcement last night was the confirmation of the Wii Remote Plus, a single controller that looks pretty much identical to the original Wii Remote but carries within it the extra-sensitive motion sensor found in the current Motion Plus add-on.
No pricing or release information was given; however, a Gamestop listing for Fling Smash featured box art of bundle including the then-unannounced controller. Fling Smash is scheduled for release on November 7, so the new controller could be out by then.

Zombie Apocalypse … Cold War Style
While many gamers felt Call of Duty: World at War did not live up to the standard set by Modern Warfare, very few had anything bad to say about the game’s Nazi Zombies mode. Now that Treyarch is once again at the CoD helm for Black Ops, zombies were confirmed to be coming back for the Cold War-themed game– in up-to-four-player console versions. Now, n-Space has confirmed that the living dead will also be shambling their way onto the DS version as well.
Dan O’Leary, president of n-Space, has confirmed through the company’s twitter account that the zombies mode will be on Black Ops for DS and support up to two players, both locally and over Wi Fi Connection. Call of Duty: Black Ops will launch on both Wii and DS on November 9.
