Catch ’em all on your own!

For 23 years, fans have been playing Pokémon, and with each mainline installment comes the obligatory call for trainers both new and old to undergo the mandatory tutorial explaining how to “catch ’em all.” Well, for the first time in series history, it seems that fans will finally be able to skip over this traditionally unavoidable bit of hand-holding. Forget Gigantamax Pokémon— now this is a headline!

In all seriousness, it’s unusual to see Nintendo offer fans a chance to avoid in-game guidance like this. Game Freak’s Pokémon titles are always all-ages affairs, so the tutorials are especially important for younger and inexperienced players. Still, it’s nice to see more seasoned fans getting a nod with this very welcome quality of life adjustment coming to Pokémon Sword and Shield.

Are you happy to see the era of required tutorials seemingly come to a close? Tell us in the comments and on social media!
