It’s that time of the week again, friends. There’s a batch of new stuff to download from Nintendo, so get it while it’s hot!

First of all, Nintendo seems to be giddy about the fact that The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds won top accolades for 2013 from several gaming publications. So, its prequel, A Link to the Past for SNES is now available for download on the Wii U Virtual Console! But that’s not all! For a very limited time, Nintendo is bringing back the special Four Swords Anniversary Edition on the 3DS eShop for free! This game was only available for a short time back in 2011, and it’s going away on February 2, so grab it right now if you can.

A new sale is also starting this week on the Wii U eShop, called the “Super Indie Connection Sale.” Five developers on the Wii U eShop are joining forces to offer big savings on some great games. If you already own one of these games or you buy any of the participating games at full price, you are then entitled to buy the other four at 60 percent off! The games in the promotion are Spin the Bottle, Runner 2: Future Legend of Rhythm Alien, Toki Tori 2+, Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams, and Mighty Switch Force: Hyper Drive Edition. The sale ends on February 13. Ohno Odyssey on the 3DS eShop is also being discounted to $3.99 until Feb. 20.

In other downloads, Mario Bros. from NES is now available on the Wii U Virtual Console, and Castle Clout 3D is out on 3DS. You can also download the full version of Wii Fit U for full price on February 1. If you still want the free trial of the exercise game, act within the next two days!

Is this going to be complicated?

I upgraded and transferred this from the original 3DS to an XL. I want to download this onto my old 3DS. I have my NNID set up on my 3DS XL. Do I need to create a second NNID on my old 3DS in order to download 4 Swords onto it?

Yeah, it looks like you need to create a new NNID for your slim 3DS, as an ID is required for free eshop content.

Another thing I noticed that is worth pointing out is that this reissue of Four Swords Anniversary Edition is NOT available on the old DSi Shop on a Nintendo DSi or DSi XL. Strange, considering it’s a DSiWare title. I was checking because I wanted to get a chance to play it on my DSi XL without an upscaled resolution.
