A sign of things to come or merely a licensing issue?

Oh boy, here we go again. Switch 2, Switch Pro, and Switch Super Duper rumors have been swirling for years now, and the latest move by Nintendo of America has sparked speculation once more. This time it’s because of the removal of the original promotional video for Switch that was on Nintendo’s YouTube channel. We’re talking the original Switch model, the very first video showing off the hybrid nature of the console.

Why should this get fans murmuring about Switch 2? Well, Nintendo has made similar moves in the past when prepping to show off new hardware or hardware revisions, apparently in an effort to highlight what’s fresh and get eyes off of the old stuff. Of course, this is wholly scuttlebutt and unconfirmed, with the alternative being any number of more pragmatic reasons for removing the video, such as expired licensing deals over music, for instance. In any event, it’s clear that a successor to Switch is in the works, but what it will be and when anyone will get to see it is still totally unknown.

As we wait on tenterhooks for news, why not share your theories down in the comments?
